Ant and I took Jace to Snip-Its today to get a hair cut. I was contemplating doing it myself but the anxiety was driving me crazy and my boss, Dawn had given me a coupon so I used that as an excuse to go! He'd been mistaken for a girl about once a week for the last month or so, so we felt it was time. I will admit that I was absolutely petrified and for that reason his hair really isn't that short now but he definitely looks like a little boy again. He sat in the little chair all by himself, no tears, no fussing and he was all smiles! I don't recall places like this from when I was little but it was super cute, each station has its own tv and they have all these weird gadgets and toys and prize dispensers. Here are a few pics, the bottom two are pre-haircut :-)

Happy Father's Day!
Jace had hand foot and mouth disease last week. It's kind of like a fast and furious ailment. It was really horrible, but it was over pretty quickly so we can't really complain! Jace is quite the trooper and he fought it off like a real champ and is completely back to his normal self. I think I was just beginning to forget the sleepless nights from when he was first born but I have been reminded that no, I do not want to go back there anytime soon! I really don't know how in the world people survive with more than one child.
I think Jace is just about ready to start crawling. He can get up on all fours but then he kind of rocks for a minute and falls down (usually in a face plant). When that gets discouraging enough he pivots himself around in circles and as a grand finale he just rolls onto his back in defeat. He started rolling right at 3 months, did it a couple dozen times and then decided against it. I think he realized yesterday that rolling is a very effective means of transportation and he has almost rolled off the bed and the couch a few times in the last 24 hours. I guess we are going to have to stay grounded from now on!
Last week uncle Craig and I took a few pictures of Jace for a fathers day gift for Ant to take to the office; pics below :-)

Ah, I got it!
Yeah! I got a video uploaded! My issues were probably user error, not blogger but whatever, I prevailed.
Thanks
I try to go through Jace's room and belongings every month and get rid of things he has grown out of and sanitize all of his toys. It blows my mind how dirty he can be without really going anywhere! We got a new washer and dryer about a month ago and I find myself washing Jace's toys more often than I wash my own jeans. So back to where I was going with this; I was sorting through clothes and toys on Sunday afternoon and realized that Anthony and I had really only paid for a small amount of Jaces belongings. So I wanted to send an official thank you to both of our gracious families. Thank you for all of the graduation money, the wedding money, the baby shower gifts. Thank you for taking us to dinner, for buying Jace toys and clothes and books and diapers. Thank you for always supporting and encouraging us through each stage of our lives!
Back to Jace since this is his blog :-)
Today was his 6 month well check which was really his 6.5 month check up. Our little giant weighed in at a whopping 20 lbs, 11 oz, the 83rd percentile! I felt like he had been getting taller and I was right, he is 27 inches, the 60th percentile for his age. We bought a few older baby toys last week and Jace could not be more thrilled. Not until I had a child did I realize that the older they get the more expensive their toys get. But that's why we have 2nd hand stores and bleach. My grandma used to bleach everything...everything. She was always sanitizing and I used to hate the smell of bleach but I've come to love it recently, haha. On a weird cleaning tangent, I bought this Mr Clean multi purpose cleaner that is lavender scented and I have been using it to mop the floors. That stuff smells so good that I would mop the floor every day if I had time. Even Anthony commented on how good it smelled and he usually complains about the smell every time I clean. Its wonderful, you should go buy some. I also have a new found appreciation for swiffers. I used to think swiffers were a waste of money when you could just use a rag but swiffers are soooo much better! I love them!
Back to the toys; everything we bought plays music and I've come to find that Jace loves to dance. Both my Mom and Anthony's Dad love to dance so I think Jace inherited their dancing feet. He's so cute, he'll sit down playing with his toys and shaking his little baby booty around :-)
I'd also like to note that blogger is being a real pain in my bum and won't let me upload any pictures or videos. Grrrr!

Wild Man
We took family pictures the weekend before last and I think they came out pretty good. Jace is so stinkin cute I can hardly stand it! He looks so much older than he really is. We went to olive garden yesterday with my Mom and Jenny and Omar and the hostess gave us a kids menu, haha. The pudge that I thought he was losing came back in full force and I think he might be growing even more because he's been spending a large part of his day napping and still sleeping all night for the last three days. I typically try to get a combined 90 minutes of nap time a day out of him so its been really wierd to have a sleeping baby. The video below is from yesterday evening. Jace loves being in the pool and I really wish that he was at least slightly fearful. Don't get me wrong, I want him to enjoy the pool but a little hesitation would make me feel a lot more comfortable.
Did I alraedy post about his first tooth? I think I might have but maybe not. Anyway, he has it and enjoys using it to bite his Grandma's chin and Elmo's nose. Anthony's Aunt Vicki bought Jace this really cute Elmo for Christmas and he was petrified of it until about a month ago. Now he thinks its hilarious and he likes to stick his hand in Elmo's mouth while he's talking. Its provided lots of entertainment over the last couple of weeks :-)
According to my amateur measurements, Jace is about 19.5 lbs and 27.5 inches long. His 6 month well check is next week so I'll let you know how accurate I am.
