Jace had his 16th month well check on Monday! He weighed in at 25lbs, 3 oz which puts him the 56th or 57th percentile...I can't remember for sure, hence the reason I decided to post about it...so its logged somewhere :-)
He is 32.5 inches tall, the 78th percentile for height and his head was 47cm, the 50th percentile. So basically he's an average sized boy...just a little tall! He's only gained 3.5 lbs since his 9 month appointment, I guess that's what mobility will do for you huh?!
We turned his crib into a full sized bed (we as in Anthony). It looks so nice! I would say that his bedroom and bathroom are the 2 best looking rooms in the house!
We are looking forward to Easter, I'll post lots of pics next week

Get to know Jace
I guess the weekend update is getting a little old, so I thought I'd write about the things you don't really talk about :-)
Jace likes to rub things under his nose. Mostly the tail of his "skin" but he uses it as a test to determine wheter or not he likes other stuffed animals. Usually if they aren't soft enough to rub under his nose, he's not interested.
I STILL rock him to sleep for his naps. I sometimes envision myself doing this when he's 5 and praying he will just grow out of it! But I don't rock him at night anymore so I guess its not so bad!
He loves the toilet. Flushing it, throwing tp in it, slamming the lid shut. Anything toilet.
He is currently obsessed with feeding Chula. I don't mind, except he literally does it 2-3 kibbles at a time so its like a 30 minute job. He's also really into unloading the dishwasher and he's actually pretty helpful at this one! I just have to be fast enough at putting things away becasue if it takes me more than 10 seconds to come grab a dish from his hand he usually just drops it on the floor.
Speaking of the floor, when he is full he throws any remaining food on his tray directly onto the floor. Luckily, he doesn't do this at restaurants...not sure if he does it at Margaret's house :-)
He loves his bad doggy. Oh and ever time I think I want to get rid of her, I think of how good of friends they are and Chula finds herself with another day at home. She's like a Marley dog I guess.
He has 5 million toys and his favorite thing to do is play outside in the rocks.
I'll think of some more for next time, but here are some pics from the week

My top 2 reasons for loving Tucson: 1.My Mom makes yummy food 2.My Mom feeds/entertains Jace while I eat yummy food!
We seem to be on a roll with the zoo so we tried the Tucson zoo on Saturday. Its perfect for a toddler because its not so huge and you can get alot closer to the animals. Jennifer almost got attacked by birds at least 3 times...why is it that the birds fly by the people that are scared of them?! There are quite a few different animals from the Phoenix zoo so it was nice to see some new animals. Jace seemed to do really well (perhaps because my Mom packed him all his favorite snacks). He saw almost all the animals except for the giant polar bear that swam right in front of him about 10 times! :-) I would say his favorite part of the zoo was the case that had a ton of cockroaches in it. Blegh!!
When we got home from Tucson we spent a couple hours pulling the millions of weeds we have from all this rain. Anthony is training Jace so hopefully he can handle it on his own by next spring and I am teaching him to load the dishwasher and vacuum :-) I am really enjoying this time where he likes to "help" me do things because something tells me this won't last too long. I'm guessing that by the time he becomes truly helpful he will lose interest!

Every once in a while I forget to put my cursor on top of the page before I start uploading pictures and then I can't get my text at the top of the post...grrr!
It really seems like the last two weekends flew by way too fast. Jace was sick the Friday before last and still feeling a little yucky that Saturday so we hung around the house. By Sunday he was better (I wish I could get better so quickly!) so we took a trip to the science center. I had never been but had heard alot of wonderful things. I hate to be a downer but I wasn't really impressed at all. There wasn't a whole lot for Jace to do but we still had fun :-) By Monday I got Jace's cold and was feeling pretty horrible. Unlike Jace, it took me almost a week to feel better. Margaret and Kevin were in the Bahamas last week (yes, we are all very jealous!) so my Mom watched Jace for us when I had to work. She took him to get the cutest new haircut -a responsibility I have managed to pawn off on her :-) I know they must have tons of fun and break alot of my rules together because after a couple of hours seeing Grandma Jace shows less and less interest in Mama :-) As a thank you for the visit, Jace and I left my Mom with the best parting gift...a cold! I feel so bad!
Omar and Jenny came for the weekend and we met Rick and Linda at the zoo on Saturday. The weather was beautiful and it was nice to not have rain! Jace did amazingly well considering he didn't get a chance to take a nap all day long. He did konk out in the stroller for about 20 minutes but everyone knows Jace isn't much of a sleeper. There is a little playground area in the zoo and Jace crawled all the way up some giant steps and went down the slide all by himself. I wanted to grab him because I was so scared he was going to fall off one of the steps or fall off the slide and I won't even tell you the horrible mental images I got of him plummeting to the ground but sometimes you just have to hold your breath and let go right...
We didn't get to the zoo until around 11:30 and it was pretty warm so alot of the cool animals were napping or hiding. We did still see alot of them and Jace got a chance to see alot of the animals we missed the first time around. I think I am going to get an annual membership this fall, the zoo is a really great place to spend the day and its relatively cheap since they allow you to bring in your own food.
Have a great week everyone!!
